Day / night fever
Bowling! Amazing catches! Annoyed englishmen! Pink balls!
It seems that day / night Tests are contractually obliged to be amazing, and our first is off to the best possible start. It was very sunny, Trent and Tim made you afraid to go to the loo for fear of missing several wickets, there was tense, steady batting, and Kane fighting through the tricky bits, and doing the business for his team, and being Kane.
NZC have saved some fan experience innovations for this Test like honest to goodness nightmarkets and bean bag terraces. They've made it a real occasion and it looks fantastic. This one may not go the five days, but it's going to be a bloody exciting dance while it lasts.

What you're up to this weekend
The cricket, obviously. Make sure you enjoy the ACC chaps, and the weird feeling of legitimacy being on Sky gives them by pushing the yellow button your remote. And follow Michelle Langstone on Twitter for the most enthusiastic / caffeinated support available. Today's play starts at 2pm
The White Ferns' last T20 v West Indies is on Sunday at Seddon Park at 2pm. It's free to get in!
In the rugby, the highlight is the Hurricanes v Highlanders showdown on Saturday night at 7.35pm, but Crusaders v Bulls on Friday at 7.35pm will be worth a look also
Unfortunately, the Parker / Joshua fight isn't until next weekend, so you've got another week of it
