NEWSDESK: Racing Bulls driver Liam Lawson announced that he has gone goth for the remainder of the F1 season to reporters today.
Lawson has had a rocky start to his full debut season, being demoted from the Red Bull team to the secondary Racing Bulls after disappointing results in the first two rounds, while goth is a punk-adjacent subculture whose members wear black clothing and makeup, and listen to death rock and ethereal wave music.

Lawson, who now communicates with Red Bull boss Christian Horner exclusively through the medium of mix tapes, announced his new direction with a series of selfies from a cemetery near the Miami International Autodrome track.
“Everyone copes differently with adversity,” said Racing Bulls principal Laurent Mekies. “Some guys go out partying, some stay in their room, and if Liam wants to paint his fingernails black and write shithouse teenage poetry, we support that as long as he performs on the track.”
Red Bull PR confirmed that Lawson’s helmet and livery would now feature spiderwebs and bats, he would be presented with a goblet of wine during pit stops and would now fulfil media commitments with moody silence and plaintive looks.
“Goth is a striking new element for Formula one, Liam’s goth direction is the talk of the paddock as he fights to retain his seat,” said general F1 talking head Jeremy Blow-Horn. “It will be interesting to see how the heavy wool trench coasts perform among the super yachts of Monaco and in the heat of Abu Dhabi, and certainly has potential for 2-3 Drive to Survive storylines.”

OK, I am massively down this London five a side league rabbit hole. The bad tackles! The chippy attitudes! The editing! All of it is perfect.
