NEWSDESK: Wellington Service Dynamics Optimisation Specialist Grant Leisure revealed today he’s playing an ‘anchor’ role for his colleagues.
In practicality, Leisure’s anchor role involves arriving at the office long after the ‘openers’ have started their work, attending every third meeting and only replying to random emails - ‘You have to let quite a few go through to the keeper to preserve your wicket.’
“Sure, people can use terms like invisible or work-shy, but I’m building a platform. Only creating three PowerPoint slides or just turning up for the last 15 minutes of the Teams is just leaving room for the big hitters to shine,’ said Leisure.
McKensy & Co management consultant Sarah Handbag-Power said the approach was ‘very 2022’. ‘People bringing the deeds of our sporting heroes into the business arena lifts all boats,’ before aggressively recommending her upcoming webinar and sending a LinkedIn connection request.
Manager Kelvin Forgot-Charger cautiously welcomed Leisure’s approach, but after spending ten minutes researching cricket tactics on Wikipedia was disturbed to learn that dramatic strike rate acceleration was a key component of the anchor role, and made a ‘to discuss’ note in Leisure’s upcoming performance review.

Recommendation
Yes, I’m going to recommend The Beatles. The new Revolver Super Deluxe version is like a bath with stereo and mono mixes and the best bit - the out takes. If listening to multiple versions of Tomorrow Never Knows sounds like your dream night in, turn off the phone, climb in and luxuriate.
