NEWSDESK: All Black head coach Scott Robertson has performed breakdancing manoeuvres in and around the second Test between the BLACKCAPS and England in a cross-code body rock collaboration that took officials by surprise.
The coin toss was delayed by several minutes while Robertson completed a scrum rock, liniment freeze and turtle swerve routine on the pitch, as Jason Ryan solemnly held a UE Boom playing LMFO’s Party Rock Anthem, forcing ground staff to hurriedly repair back spin marks on a length before play could proceed.
Robertson went on to perform meat grinders, seal clappers and roman candles in the cricket museum, William Wakefield Memorial and Norwood room respectively, before unveiling an original move labelled the Spud Spin in tribute to the Basin’s famous stick and potato based snack.
NZ Cricket and Rugby officials wouldn’t be drawn on Robertson’s Basin B Boy behaviour, with the former confirming only that the All Blacks were not currently in camp.
Cricket fans were perplexed but supportive of Robertson - “I mean, when’s he meant to breakdance? The Bledisloe? He’d be worn out. World Cup’s only every four years so he’d get rusty. Go nuts,” said Warren Lion-Brown. “I was busting for a Pat Cash, but luckily he was doing the dolphin all the way to the urinals, cleared the queue right out. It’s solid work,” said Iain Cyclepath.
Robertson was last seen remonstrating with a security official refusing to let him bring a lino cutting into the ground on day two.
